Rosacea Facial

Rosacea is a common skin disease that causes redness and swelling on the face and is often characterized by flare-ups followed by periods of remission. Redness and tiny pimples often occur on the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead. In severe cases, excess tissue can cause the nose to appear swollen and bumpy. Small visible blood vessels may appear on the face and rosacea may also cause eye irritation. Rosacea usually begins after age 30. The exact cause is still unknown.

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) pathology, it is thought that there is excessive heat (toxins) accumulated in the lungs, liver, and stomach channels which can flare up showing symptoms on the face. Therefore, external treatment with a cream is not sufficient. The better approach is to detoxify your body because it then expels the toxins from inside and prevents the problems from coming back.
